  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup red wine (optional)

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

1. Make the meatballs:

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

2. Brown the meatballs and sausage:

Sausages

In a large Dutch oven or pot, heat some olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and sausage and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the meatballs and sausage from the pot and set aside.

3. Saute the onion and garlic:

In the same pot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Saute until the onion is translucent, about 5-6 minutes.

4. Add the tomatoes and spices:

Tomatoes

Add the crushed and diced tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, parsley, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Stir well to combine.

5. Simmer the sauce:

Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the sauce is too thick, add some water to thin it out.

6. Add the meatballs and sausage back to the pot:

Add the browned meatballs and sausage back to the pot and let them cook in the sauce for another 10-15 minutes, until they are fully cooked and tender.

7. Serve:

Serve the spaghetti sauce with meatballs and sausage over cooked spaghetti noodles. Sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese on top and enjoy!
